Abstract

The goal of the current study is to investigate the potential of three different types of biodiesel specifically Pongamia oil and palmitic acid POPA as pilot fuels for a biodiesel powered dual fuel diesel engine According to the findings POPAbio diesel produced a maximum brake thermal efficiency of 1997 in dual fuel mode compared to 184 and 174 for POPAbio diesel at 100 load According to the emission study POPA biodiesels Nox emissions increased under dual fuel mode on average by 2574 and 3258 in comparison to B10 B20 and B100 biodiesels Additionally the average increase in emissions for POPAbiodiesel was 1173 and 1627 respectively On the other hand for POPAbio diesel there was an average reduction in NOX emission of 58 and 14 respectively
