To survive and grow in the stiff competitive environment every organization needs to adapt the best manufacturing practices As the body of knowledgebok expands conventional wisdom needs to be improvised with some innovative addOns Winners dont do different things they do things differentlyShiv KheraMany manufacturing lines may need to run multiple products in the same production line by making change in setting of machinery The time spent for changeover from product A to Product B is the CHANGEOVER TIME and eventually this is a NonProduction Time During this machine waiting time organizations other resources like Men Materials etc are all waiting This paper shares a real case study of enhancing the plant capacity by reducing the set changeover time through application of new tools along with SingleMinute Exchange Die SMED method This case study was done in a SME Small Medium Enterprises of Machining Industry Substantial improvement obtained both in terms of tangible and intangible
