Abstract

A crimefree neighborhood is every citizens dream and every governments goal But crime is a problem plaguing humanity since time immemorial Crime prevention is hard because of the inherently irrational and immediate nature of the majority of crimes But the response to the crime can be planned beforehand and the proper execution of the said plan can act as an effective deterrent In this thesis the design preliminary analysis simulation and subsequent development of a working prototype of the Project Archangel is being presented The project aims to be the comprehensive solution for the security threats particularly concerning the urban antisocial elements using drones For simulating the transmittal and receiving of distress signals an Arduino based prototype is made and tested For the design and simulation of Robot Operating System ROS python programming and Gazebo based simulation are extensively used The simulated platform is Parrot AR drone V2 At the end of the simulation the model successfully avoided collision with common obstacles it would encounter in a typical street
